Former ZANU PF Harare Province Youth Chairperson Godfrey Gomwe has issued a statement where he lashed out at Politburo member Kudzanai Chipanga over his recent utterances on who will succeed the nonagenarian leader.
Below is Godfrey Gomwe’s full statement on Kudzanai Chipanga.
Perhaps I should first of all clarify this point ;, ZANU PF has a faction which is steered by a few misguided elements and is hopelessly fighting the revolutionary party . It is public knowledge that the vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe has been insulted by junior Government and Party officials. Cde Emmmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has been dared to come out open on his Presidential ambitions and the faction they purporte he leads. As he supposed to be, he has maintained his silence because he leads no faction, he leads ZANU PF in his capacity as President Mugabe’s second in Command. Since he is clear on his mandate, If there’s any that ought to come out clear then it has to be the faction, i.e the Generation 40 faction,commonly referred to as G40. As expected one Kudzanai Chipanga has come out open and clear on their agenda, however his treasonous comments can not go unchallenged by the ZANU PF Youths.
I have it on good record that Chipanga who has all along been a Joyce Mujuru apologist till Saviour Kasukuwere lured him with money to join the G40 faction , has been promised a ministerial position in return for propagating a Grace Mugabe Presidency.
In ZANU PF, it has been clearly started that promoting factional agendas and pushing a certain personality to take over from President Mugabe is tantamount to power grabbing and to some extent treasonous. That Dr Grace ‘Mugabe should take over ‘ is obviously a childish mind totally rubbish, a game by the new G40 mouth piece to nicodemusly re introduce the First Lady in the Presidential race after her earlier sabbatical. The question is, why is the party silent on Chipanga’s verbal diarrheoa and shameless positioning of Grace Mugabe as the incoming President against the will of the people and the constitution of the Party?. Here are some points i seek to clarify;.
1. Saviour Kasukuwere has presidential ambitions and he wants to use the First Lady as a vehicle for him to grab power.
2. Kudzanai Chipanga is someone who pledges allegiance to the highest bider, in this case he is rooting for G40 so he gets a promised ministerial post.
3. Chipanga is a mercenary he fights a war for financial benefits not principles hence Zimbabweans should ignore him while party leaders ought to condemn him.
4. I have it on good authority that G40 held a meeting and arrived to the conclusion that it was high time they start naming their candidate.
5. since it’s a confused wagon with no particular Captain,in their confusion often displayed on Twitter, they agreed that they were ‘causing much attention and publicity on Cde Mnangagwa yet their candidate was in shadows ‘.
In light of this and with all due respect to all members of ZANU PF regardless of the factions and the citizenry of this nation, I cde GODWIN GOMWE would like to declare the following ;
1. I do not recognize my so called expulsion hence with the authority that was vested in me by the ZANU PF youth who are still happy with the way i have served them since time immemorial; I do hereby proclaim that the Honourable Vice President Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is the the next PRESIDENT, after President Mugabe whether Kasukuwere, Patrick Zhuwao, Jonathan Moyo and Chipanga and other shallow minded individuals agree or disagree.
2. Most of the incumbent ZANU PF Provincial Chairmen are either Kasukuwere’s relatives or stoogies hence they have no capacity to speak against Chipanga when he is slowly loosing his mind and tarnishing the revolutionary party, pushing for a sick and failed factional agenda to discredit Cde Mnangagwa. In light of this, we the ZANU PF youths will stop him by various means which we will announce in the coming days.
3. The majority of Zimbabweans are pro ZANU PF not pro G40 it is against this background that various major attempts to humiliate Cde Mnangagwa have drastically failed. it is also in reliance to this that i have remained in the party, choosing to ignore my factional expulsion ,fellow patriotic cadres despite the low party positions they hold they are the majority, they stand for what is right.
4. Any attempt to divert the will of the people and impose a leader from the G40 faction will be crushed by all means necessary, we have adopted a couple of measures and we will announce them in due course .
5. The war veterans, who have sustained ZANU PF to were it is today are clear on what they want and we as the youth Will be guided by them. Chipanga has crossed the line and it’s high time he voluntarily resigns from the party or we force him to.
6. Chipanga ‘s utterances are therefore dismissed by progressive party membership as senseless and baseless, they are disrespectful to His Excellency the President and they boarder on treason, we as party youths are duty bound to protect the state and the institution of ZANU Pf.
