Reign Of Terror For Alleged Zim PF Supporters
By Max Moyo.
Harare.(News Of The South) – A Belvedere couple was yesterday assaulted and left for dead by alleged Zanu-PF supporters.
Gardner Murire and his wife Jane Supiya were at their Belvedere home when a gang of youths chanting Zanu Pf slogans forcefully entered their property and started beating them up and left them unconscious.
It is alleged the couple is related to Didymus Mutasa a prolific leader of Zimbabwe People First a political party led by former Zimbabwe vice president Joice Mujuru.
“The gang leader who was being called Hondo said he came at our place looking for Tonderai Mutasa and the maid lied to them.
He accused me and my wife of hiding Tonderai Mutasa and his wife,”narrated Mr Murire in agony.
Many opposition supporters across the divide have been intimidated and heavily assaulted by axe-wielding suspected ruling party supporters.
The couple is now on the run and a police report was made although no one has since been arrested.
Some time last year Retired Brigadier General Agrippa Mutambara and other ZimPF supporters were brutally and savagely attacked by axe wielding Zanu PF youths who had invaded Obert Mutasa’s farm.
ZimPF said they would “not be deterred” and no amount of “violence or intimidation would derail the freedom train”.
