Real Madrid fullback Sergio Ramos has been named player of the just ended Club World Cup tournament ahead of the Ballon d Or bound and team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo and Ackland City captain Ivan Vucelich.

The defender netted his second strike of the tournament with a beautiful header on Saturday night against the South American champions San Lorenzo in the final at Marrakech, Morroco.

Ronaldo and Ackland City captain finished second and third respectively, while the latter was awarded the Bronze ball after guiding his team to victory in the third place play-off against Cruz Azul.

The 28-year-old admitted that the injury he picked early in the semi final clash against Azul almost kept him out of this wonderful final.

“It’s true, i risked my injury today, but i wanted to play this final, ” he said after the match.

“This Club World Cup was hard to win for our team and we are so delighted to lift the accolade.

“I’m so proud to have helped my team with those goals, but this is a success for the whole club.”
