All public gathering have been limited to a number of 100 people per event to reduce the confusion and violation of the Covid-19 restrictions.

Previously the government had given and specified different numbers of people to gather depending with the event as a way to control the spread of the virus but despite taking all the precautions needed the cases seem to increase each week.

Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, addressing a post cabinet media briefing she said that different numbers were causing confusion.

“Accordingly, henceforth, the number of people permitted at any gathering is restricted to 100, irrespective of what the gathering is being convened for,”

All sectors are fully functional, now, operating under strict covid-19 regulations and everyone is advised to adhere to these restrictions to help minimise getting infected.

Mutsvangwa said in view of the need to promote the tourism sector, closing hours for restaurants have been extended from 6 to 8pm and they should continue to operate observing the covid-19 restrictions.

Meanwhile, some of the land borders were reopened yesterday,1 December, to private motorists and pedestrians.
