The former Olympique de Marseille and France full-back, Di Meco is of the opinion that Lucas Digne deserves to be in France’s World Cup 2014 squad ahead of Evra and Clichy, describing him as a “monster of a player.”
Lucas Digne is far from commanding a first jersey at the left-back at Paris Saint-Germain, but Di Meco believes the 20-year-old is superior as compared to the French veterans.
“I can see Lucas Digne going to the World cup without any doubt, even if he plays only a game or two for PSG,” Di Meco told RMC.
“Regarding his supposed defensive problems, compared to so-called phenomenons such as Evra or Clichy that we have, Digne is a monster of player.
“With Maxwell, he will play a match or two. When u play for PSG, that is enough.”
Lucas Digne has played for PSG eight times in Ligue 1 this season.
