Prostitutes warned on COVID-19 scare
The National AIDs Council (NAC) has warned people to avoid promiscuous sexual behavior during the current lockdown.

Speaking to NAC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bernard Madzima said people need to avoid promiscuous behavior especially during these times when access to various health services including HIV services could be restricted in some instances owing to the strict lockdown regulations.
“This is because most of the programs for HIV prevention have been affected by the restrictions movements, definitely they have been a negative effect on the programs,” Dr. Madzima said.
“Those who are into commercial sex business they need to be careful that the environment does not become fertile ground for promiscuous behavior leading to increased HIV infection unwanted pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s),” Dr. Madzima said.
In a survey by the publication shows that prostitution has increased due to the lockdown.
In an interview with Belinda, not her real name said that they understand that COVID-19 it’s there that is where they feed their families.
“The pandemic it’s there but we have nothing to do we take clients regardless of his coronavirus status,” she said.
“Our main worry is not of COVID-19 is on the prices of condoms that are increasing every day,” she added.
