Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)-Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Prof Jonathan Moyo has again come out attacking state media publication The Herald accusing it of having been captured by his enemies in the ruling ZANU PF.
The publication according to Moyo’s allegations has been on a vilification campaign against him being used by his enemies believed to be led by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Despite Pres Mugabe’s Politburo warning to members to stop attacking each other using social media the supposed G40 member accused the Herald of supporting successionists in the ruling party.
“Captured media can vilify individuals in support of successionists but majority in Party & Electorate are Loyalists!’ he said.
The attack comes in the aftermath of a publication by the Herald in which a number of supposed analysts derided his ability to comment on issues to do with unity in the ruling ZANU PF.
Prof Moyo also denied his links to the G40 faction saying no such thing exists.
“The notion of a political faction of two or three people is simply idiotic & only an idiot would concede to that idiocy!’
The battle to succeed Pres Mugabe has continued exposing rifts in the party with Moyo being accused of being part of G40 whilst VP Mnangagwa is from the opposite Lacoste group believed to have the backing of the army.
