MINISTER MONICA MUTSVANGWA AND NICK MANGWANA BREAKS THE COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS AND BOASTS ABOUT IT ON TWITTER.

BY Correspondent

Govt officials pictured at minister’s birthday party, triggering outcry over police lockdown double standards and irresponsible behaviour in Mnangagwa’s New Dispensation. The Government has shown serious lockdown hypocrisy after photographs showing dozens of guests attending Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa’s birthday party, in violation of lockdown regulations, were published by a government official. The pictures showed no regard for social distancing at the time CORONA second wave is raging and causing havoc in the lives of many.

In a scene resembling the feudal system where the poor sit by the gate braving the rain while the rich fatten their huge bellied partying the civil servants salaries away.

The show off pictures, posted to Twitter by Information secretary Ndavaningi Mangwana, no social distancing or wearing of face masks could be observed as they danced away the night at a place not mentioned.

“Today we are celebrating Hon Minister Monica Mutsvangwa’s 60th Birthday. She certainly looks younger than a sexagenarian. Happy 60th Hon Minister,” Mangwana said, adding confetti ball emojis in celebration. This he did with impunity knowing very well that they are a class of untouchables who ride above the law.

Mangwana also tweeted another photograph via the official @InfoMinZW ministry account, describing Mutsvangwa as “an influencer, a mentor, and phenomenal woman”.

Commenting on the pictures a lawyer in Zimbabwe who spoke on condition of anonymity said “ This is very embarrassing and insulting. The whole permanent secretary uses the official government page to celebrate the breaking of the law”,he said.

Adding that our country has gone to the dogs and we now have a law of Mutsvangwa and the law for the rest.

Over a hundred people could be seen in the photos adding salt to the injury rubbing pepper in the eyes of poor Zimbabwean stark at home forced to observe the COVID19 rules while the first class citizens enjoy at large parties.

According to a November 19 Press statement by the police, birthdays, weddings and other social gatherings remain banned. Police also warned the public that patrolling officers would “ensure arrests are effected and the law takes its courses without fear or favour”.

The events as published by Ndabaningi Mangwana shows that there is favour in executing the law in Zimbabwe.
Police have long been accused of allowing Zanu PF and government officials to commit crimes with impunity.

Only on Friday a ZANU PF murderer by the name Muto was given bail by a magistrate court for Murder and a lot of violent cases while the Harare mayor was denied bail for allowing her sister to buy a residential stand allegedly.

The murderer in Kwekwe was released after the minister of State Security ordered the magistrate to release Muto. When people talk of judiciary capture they are shut down as liars.

Mutsvangwa’s party, which had the blessing of the police who provided several officers for security, stood in stark contrast to the treatment police meted out to Bulawayo organisers of an awards ceremony that was also held last night but was broken up by police who stormed the stage midway proceedings.

The Police had the audacity to shut and close down a lawful function and again allowed a mob to sing and demonstrate in Kwekwe against an arrest of a murderer and a fraudster who is a ZANU PF youth chairperson.

Zimbabweans throughout the world were horrified by the double standards shown by the police.

In a Tweeter twitted by Advocate Mahere she said: “A massive party was held yesterday by top government officials. Every Covid19 regulation was breached. @PoliceZimbabwe did nothing. The same police forcibly closed an awards ceremony in Bulawayo and violently disrupted an MDC Alliance youth congress in Masvingo,” Mahere tweeted.

In a tweet trying to justify the party, Mangwana later said all guests had been subjected to a Covid19 test before the party. The claim has been disputed with questions as to which laboratories conducted the tests and whether the general public is also allowed to conduct gatherings if they have negative Covid19 certificates.

President Mnangagwa has shown a soft spot on Mrs Mutsvangwa who last month insulted the Ndebeles while she was attacking the Catholic priest who happened to be Ndebele. In April, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa suspended one of his top ministers for two months, including an unpaid month after she was photographed having lunch with a friend in violation of a national lockdown to contain the coronavirus.

The behaviour of minister Mutsvangwa shows that Zimbabwe will never be free.
