HARARE, Zimbabwe.(News of the South) – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fully militarised the Health Ministry by appointing Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to be the Minister of Health replacing Obadiah Moyo who was accused of abusing Covid-19 funds.

In a statement, the chief secretary to the president and cabinet said the VP was appointed with immediate effect.
Moyo was in June arrested and subsequently fired for allegedly awarding a tender for the procurement of covid-19 drugs to a company that is linked to the Mnangagwa’s without following proper procedures.
Yesterday, the President appointment another senior soldier Commodore Dr. Chimedza as substantive Secretary of Health replacing Dr. Mahomva.
Vice President Chiwenga has no medical background and once fired all nurses for striking for better salaries before forcing them to reapply.
Chiwenga also looks down upon doctors as he called them technicians and skilled labourers.
He is also an absentee leader as he is always out of the country for medical attention in China.
