The Chilean Manchester City mentor, Manuel Pellegrini, has warned the Russians not to repeat the racial abuses they inflicted on Yaya Toure in their last month’s Champions League encounter with City in Russia.

Uefa penalised the Russians that their next home Champions league match would be played with part of their Stadium closed due to the abuse Toure succumbed during last month’s CL match in Moscow.

City and CSKA will meet again on Tuesday night at Etihad, with Pellegrini hoping that CSKA fans have learnt from the previous match.

“The fans of CSKA made an important mistake,” he said.”I don’t know why CSKA denied it at the beginning; I don’t know what their reaction is now.

Uefa acted and gave them the punishment it deserved. Hopefully we can leave this in the past. Hopefully it will be an example for Russian fans because they have a World Cup in their country.”

However, Vincent Kompany and Steven Jovelic will miss today’s Group D match with CSKA, while Joe Hart’s woes continues as Costel Pantilimon will be preferred in goal. Pellegrini has, however, praised the responsible of the England goalminder.

“Joe has reacted very well,” he told reporters.”For him this is a good thing after playing so many matches over the past two or three years.

“He has been working on the problem, supporting Costel. Nobody wants to be out but he thinks a rest will be useful for him too.”
