ONE OF the beautiful game’s greatest Pele has reportedly experienced a turn for the worst as he undergoes treatment in a Brazilian hospital for a urinary tract infection.

The 74-year-old former Brazil striker, who is considered by many as the best forward in history, is receiving intravenous antibiotics at Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital.

No official statement has yet been made about his latest condition.

On Wednesday Pele was reported to be in a stable condition, but breaking reports suggest his health has deteriorated in the last 24 hours.

His latest hospitalisation is the second within two weeks – he was discharged on November 15 following removal of kidney stones.

Named as FIFA’s player of the 20th century, Pele helped the Samba Boys win three World Cup titles in 1958m 1962, and 1970.
