The 50-year-old coach says his Barcelona team is not intimidated by Madrid’s threats and insists that the referee will have the close eye on the match. Martino also claimed that the Los Blancos threats would not help them get rid of superstar Lionel Messi.

“Every team plays according to their possibilities and there’s a referee who should judge,” says Martino.

“With Paraguay, I faced Messi three times and we could not stop him. It depends on him having his day.”

Inspite of successive draws against Osasuna and Milan, Tata says he is very happy with the way his troops have been playing even though upfront there is still a lot to be done to improve.

“In the last two games we missed something I never thought we’d miss: capacity to finish chances.”

Martino could not hide his joy over his first participation in the El Clasico against Madrid.

“It’s the first time I’ll play such a big game in Europe. In that perspective, Ancelotti has more experience.

“You have clasicos everywhere, but this one is followed all around the World. I’m looking forward to it.
I don’t think there’s a favourite to win.”
