Kayla Saikonda
At age nine this extraordinary human being has already been on television, produced music and is an ICE model.
Kayla who is based in Cape Town is taking strides towards taking the world by storm. Her brother and manager Dobson Saikonda who had a met with News of The South team said she started freestlying on beats around the age of 3.
“I would get the phone and ask her to freestyle with me. Even though she could not really speak, she could flow so when l picked that up l took her more seriously,” said the manager.

“I played one of Kayla’s songs to her producer Big C Beats way before he had started producing and he would laugh but l told him that she would be big,” said Dobson.

“By the time she was six she had written her first songs Barbie and Tinashe Kunashe,” said Dobson Saikonda. From there they never looked back and went on to drop her debut single titled "run", followed by "meek" and "before l met you".

On the February 28th she dropped her favourite song yet, it's titled Pull-Up and it's inspiration was her wanting to show that she has bars.
The manager said, “We wanted to release an EP (album) in 2020 but we felt it was too early.” They decided to probably let her go on tour this year breakout and slow down a bit then maybe drop an EP next year.
Kayla Saikonda does not want to be grouped as a rapper but rather a musician because she loves to sing and be creative.

Even before she was on social media her friends and family noticed that she could be an entertainer as she was what they described as, “over the top crazy.”
