HAVING hosted the likes of Naeto C, Flavor, P-Square and Ice Prince among others, Zambia has definitely become home for Nigerian music stars. Set to join that list next month is David Adeleke aka Davido.
The twenty year old singer and producer will perform at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka on October 12 courtesy of Fresh Sound Promotions and the Nigerian High Commission in Zambia.
Event manager and consultant, Emmanuel Nyoni told the weekend post that a welcoming party for the singer will be held a day before the main show.
Nyoni said, Davido of HKN record label would perform with his band, and believes that he is popular especially among the youth.
Curtain-raisers at the show are Pompi, Zone Fam, Judy Yo, Mag 44, CQ, Chef 187, Macky 2 and Roberto.
The young talent has developed a huge fan base in Nigeria and abroad with tracks like “Back When” featuring Naeto C, and his most recent hit Dami Duro is enjoying massive airplay online, on radio and TV.
With collaborations with a couple of Nigerian musicians and popular UK artiste, Dotstar, Davido has also shared the stage with big names like T-Pain, Fabulous, Keith Sweat, Cabo Snoop, and D’Banji.
He won a Kora award for best newcomer last year and is currently studying Business Administration at Babcock. – Post Zambia
