Lawal Babafemi, a Nigerian national terror suspect who is being accused of aiding Al Qaeda in Yemen appeared in United States Federal Court on Friday.
Babafemi is accused of having been trained by the Al Qaeda in the Arab Penninsula with some recruitment funds having been deposited by the late Al Qaeda commander in the Arabian Penninsula Anwar al-Awaki reported the FBI.
Lawal Babafemi also known as Ayatola Mostafa was ordered by Judge John Gleason to be held without bail and no plea was entered.
Reports from investigations also said that Babafemi was helping the Al Qaeda in recruiting English speaking people to engage in terror acts against America.
Babafemi attorney did not object to the judge order to hold him without bail but only told the judge that Babafemi suffered from blood pressure and begged that he receives treatment whilst at a detention centre.
Investigation reports say that Babafemi became operational active during the period 2010-2011 unit he was arrested for crimes in Nigeria and was later handed to the FBI to prosecute him for terrorist activities.
Al Qaeda affiliated group and organizations are in casing their footprints in Africa with one Al Shabab a Somali based group behind the Kenyan Westgate mall attack and Boko Haram behind the recent attack on a Nigerian school being all linked to Al Qaeda.
