Amsterdam, Netherlands. (News of The South) – Vita-Optima, a Netherlands grape trading company has acknowledged the sales of Namibia and South Africa’s grapes.
Namibian and South African grapes’ sales were much higher in 2019 compared to 2018. “There is a good market for grapes from Namibia and South Africa.
Prices are at around the €13.50 (US$15.12) mark. That is a nice level. Namibia is now practically empty. Larger volumes have only recently been available from South Africa.
Promotions were planned for the last week of 2019. There will also be sales in week 1 and 2 of this year. These are for white and red grapes. These, of course, stimulate sales.
Considerably more grapes are being ordered in top seal packs. Currently, we still send 40 to 50 percent in clamshell packs. Then 30 to 40 percent are in top seal packs. The remainder is sold loose,” said Vita-Optima’s representative, Wibo van den Ende.
