Mutasa-The Mutasa North legislator is going to hold a victory celebration gala in her constituency this Saturday.
The Mutasa North MP Chido Madiwa-Tsinakwadi last year won the elections in a tightly contested race with then MDC Alliance Manicaland chairperson David Chimhini and she has decided to hold a gala to celebrate the victory.
Speaking to this publication, the legislator who was born and bred in Honde Valley said there will be entertainment galore at the event.
“We are going to host a Muchongoyo tradition dance group from Chipinge which will be ably supported by Ngoti from here(Honde Valley),”she said.
The event which is going to be held at St Columbus Secondary School will also be spiced up with a sports tournament and is going to be graced by the minister of defence, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and Senator Retired General Mike Nyambuya who is also the deputy senate president.
According to the legislator, the gala is a way to appreciate the gesture by the electorate in voting her and also to touch base with it on concerns in the constituency.
“During the election campaign, I listened to the concerns the people that include improved water access , primary health care, and road networks so now that I have the mandate to relay that to parliament there is no better way than to thank them in this way.
“It will also be an opportunity to ponder on some of the immediate needs the constituency requires, ”the Mutasa North MP added.
The Mutasa North Constituency in Manicaland Province. It is home to Honde Valley, Zindi, Hauna Business Centre and Green Valley.
The constituency is famed for its scenic views, lush tea plantations and thriving small scale banana and coffee farming.
It has also a rich history of the 2nd liberation struggle because of the famous battles that were fought there and hence it was home to many concentrated camps better known as ‘Keeps’ during that period.
