Museveni Attends Zambia`s Independence Commemorations
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is in Zambia as a special Guest for the country’s commemoration of Independence.
Zambia on October 24, 2016 will celebrate 52 years of Independence though there is little to point at as over 60 percent of the population still live in abject poverty. They live on less than a dollar per day while politicians entrusted to rule abuse the public resources amassing worth which they cannot even account for.

President Museveni, one of Africa’s long serving president having ruled Uganda after over throwing President Obote in 1986 is President Lungu’s close ally together with Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
Museveni this year won a fifth term in an election observers say was characterised by malpractices and violence. The opposition rejected the results.
The Ugandan president arrived in the Zambian capital on Sunday ahead of the celebrations on Monday. He was welcomed by President Lungu.

President Lungu later held a state banquet in honour of his Uganda counterpart whom Zambians say is his god father and mentor now. Lungu’s election was also marred with violence and malpractices. The opposition disputed the results and are still challenging the outcome in court.
While in Zambia President Museveni is expected to pay a courtesy call on Zambia’s first president Kenneth Kaunda before he flies back to Uganda on Monday.
