Zimbabwean UK based Nyaradzai Angeline Machakaire was crowned Miss Elegance 2013 while Adrian Brown was the winner for the Mr Elegance in a glittering finale held at the Pyramid Centre Clarence Esplanade in the United Kingdom over the weekend.

The most celebrated beauty contest was organized by the Lindani Moyo Masuku of Black African Woman Rock( BAWR) and Shupi Kaseke of Shopsitaliano supported by Global Grooves Foundation to raise funds for the charitable organisation the Betty Makoni led Girl Child Network.

The runners up for the Mr and Miss Elegance 2013 were Zimbabwean UK based Stephen Charewa and Charity Kuzipa.

Event promoter – Langton Chipangula Director (Global Grooves Foundation) was happy with the turn out and told News Of The South that everything went according to plan.

Special Guest was Muzvare Princess Betty Makoni (Girl child), Courtney Jensen and Fikelephi Jackson, the Master of ceremony was Jacob Mbofana.

Entertainment for the night was provided by Dj Langerz – global DJ, DJ Kojo (resident DJ) , Lady Cee and DJ Sebelebe (M C).

Sponsors of the event were: Black African Woman Rock, Shopsitaliano, Global Grooves Foundation, Veneka Fashion Accesories, Zim Eye Media, Thames Security services Ltd, Fikelephi Jackson and Shell Louise.

Chipangula told News Of The South that fans enjoyed the event which was a first in Portsmouth and male models added flavour to the event and promoted diversity within the community.

“The challenges we faced included getting the community together to come and support and satisfy guests as this was the first event and having to market and advertising it, travel costs, bookings, but it was worth it” said Chipangula.
