Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South) – Prof Jonathan Moyo has upped his anti-Mnangagwa campaign with another showering of praise upon Sydney Sekeremayi who he is rumoured to be rooting for to take over from President Mugabe.
Speaking on social media Moyo reiterated his earlier statements that Sekeremayi is the better candidate to take over from Mugabe who has ages considerably.
“Dr Sekeremayi is the only senior leader in Zanu PF with unbroken Cabinet service under Pres Mugabe and has never lost an election since 1980!’, he said.
However the assertion that Sekeramayi has never lost an election is erroneous since the Defence Minister lost the Marondera East House of Assembly elections to an MDC candidate.
Sekeramayi then contested for the Senate and polled 24 571 votes against 17 370 for Jane Chifamba for the MDC contesting for the Marondera-Hwedza Senator seat.
Responding to the statements MDC-T Tafara Member of Parliament James Maria did scoffed at the Prof.
“A Dr who believed diesel could ooze off a rock in Chinhoyi. Can we trust him not to believe that Cerevita can be plucked off Mopani trees,” he said.
Sekeramayi was infamously part of the government delegation that went to be shown a ‘miraculous’ happening where diseal was coming out of a rock courtesy of a fraud traditional healer Rotina Mavhunga.
Moyo’s insistant veiled attacks upon the leadership style and ability of VP Mnangagwa have continued despite calls for peace in the faction riddled party.
Last week the party’s Politburo meeting reportedly saw a heated exchange of accusations between the two who accuse each other of damaging the party.
