(News of The South) – Cecile Eledge 61 year old woman carried her own grandchild, acting as the surrogate for her son and his husband.
She offered to be the surrogate when her son Matthew Eledge and the husband Elliot Dougherty started talking about starting their own family and she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last week.
Mr Dougherty’s sister Lea served as the egg donor while Mr Eledge provided the sperm.
This was a unique surrogate situation as the couple had to consider every possible way to start their own family and having Mr Dougherty’s sister take part in this, it’s because it was their only hope for having a biological child.
Mrs Eledges pregnancy was very smooth throughout, with regular symptoms and there were no complications during delivery.
A week later after giving birth, Mrs Eledge says that the baby and her granddaughter are doing well.
“This little girl is surrounded by so much support, she’s going to grow up in a loving family, this is how it was meant to be,”
Mrs Eledge was excited to be part of her sons new journey and everything worked out perfectly fine.
