Mutare. (News Of The South) – Movement for Democratic Change leader (MDC-T) Morgan Tsvangirai scoffed fired Zanu PF secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa as having seen the light that Zanu -Pf does not subscribe to the principles democracy.
Addressing hundreds of MDC- T supporters at Hauna growth point in Mutasa North Constituency on Thursday, Tsvangirai said Zanu PF had failed to rule Zimbabwe, adding that the aging President Robert Mugabe and his cronies were busy amassing wealth while citizens suffer silently in poverty.
He said Didymus Mutasa now had finally seen the ‘light’ that Zanu PF stole the 2013 Presidential election and just like any other ordinary Zimbabwean is suffering.
“Mugabe and Zanu PF have no future for the children of Zimbabwe. They are busy amassing wealth for themselves. Mutasa anoti Mugabe anobira maelections now and he is in the same boat with all of us. Asi musi uno aiti Tsvangirrai hatidi kukuona asi iye zvino we are singing from the same hymn book. What has gone wrong now?” queried the opposition leader.
The MDC-T leader appealed to supporters to come out in their numbers to vote for his party that will bring the desired change needed by poverty stricken Zimbabwean.
He took on the swipe on the just ended July 2013 Presidential elections in which Zanu Pf won the elections resoundingly a feat that catapulted Mugabe to rule Zimbabwe for the next five years, saying even though the ruling party ‘won’ they did not celebrate the victory because they were being haunted by the guilty conscience of rigging the elections.
Tsvangirai assured his supporters that while his party was interested in contesting the 2018 Presidential elections, Zanu PF as the ruling party had to reform the laws of the country so as to make the political playing field even, otherwise his party will not take part in shamed elections.
Speaking at the same occasion MDC-T Women Assembly chairperson Lynnet Karenyi took a swipe at the first Lady for hosting her 50th lavish birthday, saying she was out of touch with reality.
“How can First Lady Grace Mugabe even think of celebrating her birthday of all things. There are several women out there who are suffering from poverty. Some of them are the ones being chased from the streets now, yet she is supposed to be championing their cause. As the First Lady she needs to wake up from her slumber and take in active role in ensuring that women and children are well taken care of than holding an extravagant birthday bash which serves to make her even more richer,” fumed Karenyi.
Morgan Tsvangirai was expected to address a rally in Buhera Central Constituency Last Friday at Chimbudzi Business Centre before winding up his three day visit in Manicaland on Sunday at Matsika Business Centre in Makoni West.
