Glasgow, Scotland – Zimbabwean socialite and sister to comedian Madam Boss, Fungai Mtisi, was among passengers who endured a terrifying experience aboard an easyJet flight to Glasgow yesterday, July 27, 2025. Just minutes before landing, a man reportedly stood up and began shouting “I am going to bomb the plane. To hell with Trump,” sending the cabin into a panic.

The incident unfolded on easyJet flight EZY609 from London Luton to Glasgow, which was approximately five minutes from touching down at Glasgow Airport. According to reports from passengers, including Ms. Mtisi who was returning from Zimfest, the sudden outburst caused widespread alarm and fear.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as men on board bravely moved to restrain the individual. Viral videos circulating on social media, reportedly from the flight, show a man being tackled to the floor and pinned down by fellow passengers. He was also heard shouting “Death to America, death to Trump,” and “Allahu Akbar.”

Upon the plane’s arrival at Glasgow Airport around 8:20 AM, police officers immediately boarded the aircraft and arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the disturbance. Police Scotland has confirmed the arrest and stated that the man remains in custody, with inquiries continuing. They also indicated that videos circulating online are being assessed by counter-terrorism officers.

EasyJet released a statement expressing gratitude to the crew and passengers for their calm handling of the situation, reiterating that the safety of the flight and customers was not compromised at any time.

The frightening incident occurred amidst heightened security in Scotland, coinciding with a private visit by US President Donald Trump to his golf resorts in the country. While the man’s rant mentioned Trump, there is no confirmed link between his outburst and the President’s visit.

The arrested man is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today, July 28, 2025. The swift actions of the passengers and the rapid response from authorities ensured that what could have been a catastrophic event was contained, leaving passengers like Fungai Mtisi shaken but safe.
