The Argentina international Lionel Messi returned to first-team practice on Friday netting a hat-trick and will feature in Saturday’s La Liga fixture against Elche to mark his competitive comeback.
Messi was sidelined due to hamstring problem two months ago but he looked like his old glory days are back following his three goal hauling in a practice match organised by coach Gerardo Tata Martino.
The 26-year-old also admitted that he was very happy with his return to full time training with his team-mates.
“It is a great joy to be working with my team-mates,” Messi wrote on Tencent Weibo and Wechat.”I feel great.”
The Blaugrana will get into Saturday’s La Liga match against Elche on top of the log on goal difference from Atletico Madrid who face Malaga today.
