Zimbabwe`s main opposition Movement for Democratic Change is yet to recover from factions that emerged during last year’s hotly contested congress.
Skirmishes were reported at the burial of Councilor Muzuva with Rhino Mashaya at the centre of the skirmishes. Mashaya savagely attacked the Kuwadzana East member of parliament Hon Nelson Chamisa with unprinted words. As if that was enough a plan has been hacked to up mudslinging against perceived sympathizers of the Kuwadzana East legislator.
A person who spoke on condition of anonymity yesterday reported that a meeting was held at corner Jason Moyo and Rezende at a takeaway inside Copy world building. Another meeting is reported to have been scheduled for Friday.
Notable figures who attended the factional meeting include James Chidhakwa (National Youth Member), Gamuchirai Chipungu( Harare provincial member) and 13 other youths. The person
privy to the meeting reported that targets of pro-Chamisa people were identified for character assassination. It is reported that they agreed to release fictional stories against Hon Ronia Bunjira (Harare province Women assembly chairperson, Denford Ngadziore and other
members of Harare province perceived to be sympathisers of the charismatic Kuwadzana East legislature.
One identified as Mai Sezera was tasked to write fictional stories meant to discredit perceived Chamisa sympathisers. James Chidhakwa is reported to have been tasked to spearhead character assassination and the planned attack on a facebook page Face to Face with Nelson
Chamisa.
The insider reported that all was being done to protect the foul mouthed Mashaya who was drunk at the funeral of Councilor Muzuva. Mashaya insulted one of the relative of the bereaved family, showing how disrespectful he is. It is also reported that Mashaya and one identified as Kudzi printed T-shirts with a cartoon of Tsvangirai which did not go down well with Hon Bunjira who asked Yvonne Musarurwa about the source of the T-shirts. Yvonne Musarurwa is said to have insulted Hon Bunjira for asking a genuine question about the source of
the T-shirts.
Reports from the insider also indicates that Mashaya is involved in swindling of funds meant for Dzamara prayers. It is reported that Mashaya was given $500 for the abandoned first Dzamara meeting which he used and even the Harare provincial chairman Erick Murayi is not privy to Mashaya’s corrupt activities.
