She has been compared with the former first lady Gertrude Mutharika, who is known for poor dressing code whenever attending private and party functions.
Mary was well dressed at the Acceptance speech ceremony alongside her husband, as the public appreciates her wardrobe style and how elegant she always looks as a lady on her own and whenever she is out there in support of her husband.
All over social media, Mary is the new fashion diva, both ladies and men admire everything about her.
On twitter one wrote, “Mary Chilima is actually an influencer. Every time she’s out, Malawians all over social media are discussing her outfits, her demeanor and we want to see more of her,”
Every time Mary makes an appearance at an event, people are always impressed by her looks and her efforts.
In 2018, Mary was named the Fashion Icon of the Year. She was recognized as one of the individuals who have made an impression on the country’s and style scene. She encourages and supports the fashion industry in Malawi to grow big and to make use of the social media in promoting Malawian culture and designs. One can say, she is a fashion queen indeed.
She is now the most Elegant, respected and loved second lady of Malawi.
