Johannesburg. (News Of The South)- South Africa’s Economic Freedom Front leader Julius Malema has declared that his party will continue to wear overalls to parliament in defiance of tradition.

Malema told journalists in Johannesburg Sunday that the move was meant to highlight the plight of poor workers in the country.

In May, the party’s MPs caused a stir when they turned up for swearing-in wearing red overalls, hard hats, gumboots and domestic servants’ uniforms. The move was dismissed by some as a publicity
stunt.

EFF gained more than one million votes in the recent elections to secure a place in the 400-member assembly dominated by the ruling ANC.

Malema was ANC youth wing president but was expelled after calling for nationalisation of mines, the lifeblood of the SA economy.
