(News of The South) President Lazarus Chakwera’s delay to leave South Africa last Friday is said to be as a result of harassment on the part of some South African officials.
According to Presidential Press Officer, Sean Kampondeni, the head of state was denied to leave South Africa together with his advance team despite all their relevant documents being in order.
South African authorities embarrassed the president of Malawi and treated him undiplomatically believing that his plane was to carry Malawi’s self-proclaimed prophet Sherperd Bushiri and wife, Mary who were also destined to leave the Rainbow nation.
Meanwhile, Malawi government has condemned Pretoria for not acknowledging and apologizing on the abuse rendered to the head of state.
However, President Chakweras press Director, Sean Kampondeni had also made the poibt clear saying, President Chakwera will not be involved or hold a meeting with any individual in relation to Bushiri case and he will not grant any favour or issue directives.
He then stressed, President Chakwera will let law enforcers do their job in accordance with the law.
Over the weekend, Bushiri told the nation through Zodiak Television that he will be meeting government leadership to intervene into the issue in which he is being subjected to injustices by some agencies across the Zambezi. – News of The South
