Draxon Maloya.

(News of The South) – Malawi Government is said to be failing to pay monthly salaries for police officers, medical, health personnel and other department’s officials due to what economic experts have described as bankubsy.

Due to the president’s recent visit to Spain government advised the Reserve Bank (RBM) to make an overdraft to pay for the bloated presidential entaurage.

Meanwhile government has issued a memo to all the department advising employees that the salaries shall be delayed due to the problems with the Ifmis.

Public servants were also subjected to a similar situation after Mutharika and his contingent went to the United Nations General Assembly (Unga) earlier this year.

Impecable sources have confided to this publication that government has asked for the assistance of the FDH Bank to bail it out from the predicament.

This is against the advice from the RBM to avoid unnecessary borrowing if the food and non-food inflation is to hit the record 4.5% by June 2020.
