Mabvuku Youth Make A Difference For Pot Holed Community Roads
(Zimbabwe) – Mabvuku christian youths (Youth Impact) from Covenant Assemblies Of God demonstrated the love they have for their community by tirelessly repairing the pot-holed roads in their community of Mabvuku a move the city fathers have failed for decades.
“We are a community church and we believe in giving back our service to the community through initiatives as this,” said Pastor Tim Manyange.
“We are trying to build a culture of community development responsibility from our youths whereby we make the development of our community our number one priority not finger pointing to relevant and responsible authorities and putting the blame on them because at the end we are the ones to suffer for their failures”, said Takudzwa Mashumba Youth Impact chairman.
50 youths took part in this exercise and Pre Cast company provided pothole filling material thus making the exercise a success.
Roads in Mabvuku/Tafara communities have been in this dangerous state for decades and the city council has failed the community thus posing a great threat to road users.
Lafarge Zimbabwe have also divorced itself from developing its surrounding communities of Mabvuku/Tafara a move which residents criticized despite the pollution it emits to these communities.
“Years back, the Lafarge(formerly Circle Cement) which we used to know would come and upgrade our roads, our clinics and would do many good things to our community but now we don’t what crime we have committed as a community”, cried Ambuya Munemo.

Getting a comment from Lafarge Cement were fruitless and according to documents in our possession, the big cement manufacturing company denied to partner even in this community exercise for reasons unknown.
