Love, respect and care for women
Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South) – A true and real man never hurts a woman. You need to be very careful when you make a woman cry because God counts her tears.
A woman came out of a man’s rib, not from his feet to be walked on, and not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved.
To be honest, respecting women is of utmost importance. They are our mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters. In order to create a better world and become better versions of ourselves, we must treat women with love and respect. But woman have suffered a lot, be it physical and emotional abuse, digital divide, denied education as well as child marriage. They must be given the love, respect and care that they deserve the most.
Some people call men who love, respect and care for their women old fashioned or fools and some believe that the man would have been charmed (commonly known as kudyiswa in Shona) but I believe that respecting women is one of the most important things to uphold in life. A real man knows how to respect a woman because he knows the feeling if someone would disrespect his mother, wife or daughter.
Telling a woman all sorts of loving stories, providing her with any material things or telling her how beautiful she is, is just but a way of reinforcing the already existing love. The best and everlasting way of showing the importance of a woman is to appreciate her roles in society respecting her, put them on the rightful position even if it means leadership positions, let it be. It hurts when you see women being denied their rightful leadership roles. Most organisations still do not believe that women can even do better than their male counterparts, they suppress their capabilities by denying them leadership roles.
Why fighting your mother? Why denying your sister the leadership role? Why leaving your daughter uneducated? This has to end; we are all equal. It is a man’s job to respect women.
Whenever you think about disrespecting a woman, think about how you were born into this world. Imagine the nine months that she carried you in her womb, it will be like living in her own different world. She might eat properly, at times behaviour changes as well as her healthy being jeopardised. High blood pressure, as dangerous as it is, to her during pregnancy it becomes a norm. Somehow, pregnancy is life threatening, be because she loves you, she risks carrying you in her womb. It is common knowledge that men and women have roles in society, some might argue that their roles are different, indeed they are different, but their rights are equal.
It is a matter of birth being a male and being a man is a matter of age, but being a gentleman is a matter of choice. The best choice for a man to be a gentleman is to love, respect and care for a woman. A real man can’t stand seeing his woman, mother or daughter being hurt. He is careful with his decision and actions. But some people, even politicians who are expected to recognise, respect and give women the respect they deserve are always found wanting. They get to an extent being abusive to women and go away with it without facing the wrath of the law. Such people are unacceptable in the society because development is hindered without women. Looking at the Athenian type of democracy, it was said to be the good example of direct democracy but it failed to sustain because they did not recognise the importance of women. They only considered men in decision making.
Men who love their mothers treat women wonderfully. And they have enormous respect for women. When a woman is talking to you, listen to what she says and respect it, if you differ in opinion, fighting her is not a solution. A woman is not an object. She is not something; she is someone. You treat a woman with respect. She is not your toy. She doesn’t owe you anything just because you are a man. When she comes to you for comfort, you listen to her. Grow up and start treating women how they deserve to be treated. We have to note that neither man nor woman is perfect or complete without the other. Thus, no marriage or family is likely to reach its full potential until husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, men and women work together in unity of purpose, respecting and relying upon each other’s strengths.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. A man is automatically more respected if he has morals about respecting women so for am man to be a “MAN” enough he must be careful in how he treats women because it says a lot about his character. Every woman deserves a man who appreciates not only her lovely body and homemaking skills but also her witty and intelligent mind.
One of the greatest things a father can teach a son is how to treat a woman the way she deserves to be treated – like a queen. All women are beautiful, regardless of their looks. You just need to touch their soul with respect and appreciation for their inner beauty and you will be rewarded with joy. The heart is way more important than the package. Women are God’s greatest gift to man and we should cherish and protect them, each and every one. Michelle Obama once said, “The measure of any society is how it treats its women and girls.”
A good man treats women with honour because respect is one of the greatest expressions of love. If you want to be treated like a king, then treat your woman like a queen. It is their right to be treated with love and dignity.
