The London Fund raising event for young Zimbabwean tennis star Michael Mhangami held on Friday managed to raise £2090.
A total of £5000 is needed to send off young and talented Mhangami to Florida to participate in the Orange Bowl Tournament in December.The London event managed to raise half of the required amount.
Zim Achievers Boss Conrad Mwanza was present at the event and he pledged £300 and also bid for a tennis racquet for £99.
Mwanza announced that he would be setting up a charity to support young Mhangami to realise his talent and ensure he achieved to great heights in his tennis career.
The Organising team who made the event a success included Heather Mudhari, Joseph Ochieno.
Eastenders star Rudolph Walker graced the event.
“Michael began playing tennis at the age of 3, by the age of 4 he was taking part in tournaments and whenever he lost he cried” explained Michael`s father.
Zimbabweans and well wishers are urged to support Mhangami and help raise the balance needed for his travel to Florida.
