Maseru, Lesotho. (News of The South) – The Lesotho Communications Authority has threatened to revoke the license of South African telecommunications company Vodacom.
Vodacom Lesotho is expected to fork out US$550 000 for noncompliance or risk having its license revoked.
The communications authority is also accusing Vodacom Lesotho’s board chairperson Matjato Moteane for hiring his sister in-law’s firm as an independent auditor.
“Threats of revocation are being issued, we would just like to see checks being addressed and the necessary corrective actions being taken.
Our audit committee who are the ones who have the mandate of choosing the auditor have responded, and their response clearly does not find favour with the regulator,” said Moteane.
