Zimbabwe’s swimming icon Kirsty Coventry says plans are in a pipeline to form a swimming academy to uplift swimming and to identify future phenoms for the country.
Affectionately known as “Zimbabwe’s Golden Girl,” the thirty year old Kirsty believes Zimbabwe has talented swimmers whose talents need to be harnessed.
“Zimbabwe has a lot of talents in sport but there is need to harness those talents.
“We must rebuild our foundation by identifying more talents to keep our standards at international levels,” said Coventry.
Sheappreciate the support she received from Zimbabweans during her carrier and said she wants to win a medal in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia as a dedication to the whole nation.
Kirsty Coventry was born in September 1983 and she earn more medals than any other athlete in Africa.
