Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta is in Rwanda for a three-day official visit attending the 3rd Tripartite Infrastructure Summit which started in Kigali on Monday.
The summit, which brings together the presidents of Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Rwanda, is intended to fast-track regional development through infrastructure, trade and economic integration.
On Tuesday, President Kenyatta joined 12 other African Heads of State for the Transform Africa Summit, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) which aims to pool resources and set a new agenda for Africa to address development challenges through the use and uptake of ICT and related services.
The summit is being attended by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia, Presidents Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita of Mali, Salva Kiir of South Sudan, Macky Sall of Senegal, Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon, Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi, Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo, Blaise Compaore of Burkina Faso and host Paul Kagame.
President Kenyatta is accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
