Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) conference hosted in Victoria Falls yesterday under the flagship of Ministry of Environment, Tourism and Industry is set to strike a balance on the aspects of Tourism, Environment and the socio-economic transformation of the local people.
Speaking at the conference as guest of honour, Minister of Environment, Tourism and Industry Hon Prisca Mupfumira reiterated that while a lot was being done on tourism sector there is also need to bring sustainability both to the natural environment and the very local people as a way to spearhead national development.
“I believe the KAZA TFCA main goal which is ´to collaborate in conservation of our natural resources and promote tourism whilst boosting the socio-economic environment for our local communities’, is achievable and a noble cause.
The focus of our efforts should be to transform the lives of the communities throughout the KAZA landscape, contribute to the socio-economic development of our nations as well as improve the conservation status of flora and fauna of the TFCA,” she said.
