Harare. (New Ziana)-The third edition of the Kariba Business Expo (KBE) explodes into life this week in the resort town of Kariba with an increased number of companies expected to grace the annual event.

The three day event will be held in the newly refurbished Nyamhunga Stadium and runs from the 4th to the 6th of December under the theme “Creating networks that work”.

Maxton Kanhema Chief Executive of Safecan Holdings the organizers of the expo said everything is on course and said they expected a bigger number of exhibitors from last year’s figures.

“Everything is on course for another edition of this grand business expo and we will see a larger number of Harare companies coming for this year’s edition”.

“From last year’s figures we have seen an improvement in the number of exhibitors and this year we have now confirmed the presence of 23 companies coming from outside the town”, he said.

According to Kanhema the event will see a different array of business entities will be exhibiting and these include engineering companies, tour operators and others in the service industry.

Some of the companies that are set to be part of the event include banking firm FBC, Old Mutual and Patchgate Distributors.

The KBE has been steadily growing into an annual mainstay on the business calendar with numerous companies resorting to the exhibition event where numerous networks have been crafted.

Kanhema said the event was in line with the country’s Zim-Asset policy which seeks to empower locals through the use of local resources.

“We are just moving along the same vein as the country’s indigenization policy which is seeking to empower locals through the use of local resources and as part of Safecan Holding we shall also be carrying out other ventures there”.

“Also exhibitors will get a chance to meet and network, thereby getting increased visibility and chances for them to meet potential investors’, he said.

There have been calls for value addition to the traditional tourism services and the expo is expected to present opportunities for companies in the town to showcase their services to a wider community.
