Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – Journalists are heroes working in the frontline informing the public during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Journalists deserve an applause for the heroism that they show in trying to ensure that the public are up to date about the current affairs and that they get accurate news on time.
It is high time journalists are given the recognition they deserve. For them it is always their goal to make sure that the public stays informed no matter at what cost.
They are putting their lives on the line so as to give people daily updates when they go out and about on what is happening in the communities trying to figure out what kind of situations people are in.
A certain freelance journalist, Panashe Makufa, was beaten up by the police in Zimbabwe as he had taken pictures of them trying to enforce a covid-19 lockdown. A true sign of heroism, being beaten up because he wanted to do his work of informing the public. This journalist was assaulted because he wanted to report back to the world what was going on in the streets.
Journalists have made it a point now to focus more on the issues at hand, for example the Coronavirus which has had the whole world scared.
They make sure that they give people all the necessary information that they need and also that will help people.
Others have taken to the streets where they take note of everything that is happening and whether or not there is any progress in relation to the lockdown.
Some journalists have taken to the internet to write blogs on which they will be informing people on a daily or weekly basis about how the virus is spreading or if there are any cases recorded or if there is anything that has surfaced.
