Intimidation Tactics Will Never Move Incapacitated Teachers
Impeccable sources have indicated that Ministry officials have designed a strategy of intimidating teachers to return to work by bombarding school heads with unprecedented statistical demands of attendance of teachers per day.
To School heads dont be moved by this unprecedented demand of statistics. If you are a coward and part of the problem, you can accurately provide the statistics, but dont fabricate statistics. It is also prudent to note that the Ministry is not requesting for names of incapacitated teachers as some heads purport but mere statistics of incapacitation. For those who want to be part of the solution, you can move to another level of failing to provide statistics as incapacitated heads.
To teachers, the time to engage a high incapacitation gear is now in order to justify our clamour for the restoration of our purchasing power parity pegged at US$520-US$550, as well as prioritisation of teachers and pupils’ health and safety.
To the parents avoid tempting us with incentives that are not a panacea to our current challenges. Keep your children at home while we try to reach an amicable solution with our employer.
To our students you are always in our prayers and we hope gvt would adopt a more meaningful approach and pay us a living wage so that we can come back to teach you. You can also do anything that may fast track our return to the classroom.
As a United Front of teachers we reiterate that anyone who touches any teacher would burn. An injury to one will be an injury to all. Lets march foward in our incapacitation mode and remain hopeful that gvt would respond sooner or later to the challenges we are facing. We are workers and not slaves, and have family responsibilities that we cannot renege on
