Barcelona prolific midfield wizard Andres Iniesta has extended his contract at the Catalan giants until the summer of 2014, the club official website has revealed on Thursday evening.
Iniesta’s previous contract was due to end in June 2015 and considerable number of clubs were eyeing the services of the 29-year-old.
The 29-year-old graduated to Barcelona senior team from youth academy he has 479 official appearances for the Catalan club since making his debut between 2002-03 under the stewardship of coach Louis van Gaal.
He has won a number of trophies during his time at Barcelona, including six La Liga titles and three Champions League cups.
The Spanish international will put his signature on Monday to become the fifth Barcelona player to agree a deal until 2018 after Lionel Messi, Cristian Tello and Sergio Busquets.
