Harare, Zimbabwe. – MDCT had applied for an interdict that was to stop Khupe from using party log and trademark. Not about who should lead the party. So the judge is simply saying the issue of log , name and trademark are not any issue. The issue is who leads the party which the courts must settle. Technically both Chamisa and Khupe have been given an open cheque to fight for name in courts. However, with Zanu anything can happen on 30 May and genuine MDCT supporters must worry less abt the name because there are several options readily available. We can either:
-Revert to the original name MDC
-Use MDC alliance
– Fight in the courts over the issue of who leads MDCT and use the name after victory.
To the best of my knowledge and in line with MDCT constitution, a leader cannot self impose her/him self. So the legal contest between Chamisa and Khupe can be won by who ever has the majority of National Council, standing committee, youths and women members. Be that as this may the party must budget for both victory and induced Zanu pf loss and my submission above does that.
