Tinoonga Mawere(News of the South)- Masvingo- Two people were burnt beyond recognition when a Toyota Fortuner vehicle they were travelling in collided with a haulage truck yesterday.
According to a police statement, the accident happened near Ngundu Business Centre in Chivi District.
The Toyota Fortuner caught fire after a head-on collision with the haulage truck.
“According to the information we have received so far, the Toyota Fortuner was involved in a head-on collision with a haulage truck yesterday.
Two people who were travelling in the Toyota Fortuner were burnt beyond recognition. However we understand that the two did not attempt to escape from the wreckage because the vehicle immediately caught fire after colliding with the haulage truck,” police in Masvingo said.
According to eyewitnesses the driver of the Toyota Fortuner was speeding.
