Zimbabwean HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu could miss the last crucial games of the Castle Larger Premier League race in November as he is set to leave early this month for Norwich in the United Kingdom to pursue his UEFA B coaching licence.
The sad news comes at the back drop of yet another defeat form their Harare rivals Dynamos, that saw Dembare shooting to the top of the log, as the curtain slowly closes down on the premiership race.
Assistant coaches Bekithemba Ndlovu and Tembo Chuma might take charge of the team while measures are being worked out for the first half of the 2014 season as Kaindu is likely only to return in June.
The Zambian’s contract was due to end on December 31, but there have been strong indications that it would be renewed.
Kaindu, who arrived at Highlanders from an attachment at Reading in the UK, would not be drawn on the issue and referred questions to club chairman Peter Dube, who confirmed the trip.
“Highlanders FC would like to congratulate Kelvin Kaindu for his admission at Norwich to pursue his UEFA B coaching license,” said Dube.
“Very few coaches in Africa have attained this level. He is just two steps away from acquiring the Pro certificate which is the highest coaching certificate in the world.
We wish him well in his studies”.
The weekend results from Bourfields saw Dembare shooting from third position to claim top spot on the log with 48 points only ahead of Harare City with goal difference and Bosso have dropped to third position with 47 points making the last few matches very tightly contested.
The last four games for Bosso are very crucial as they will face Motor Action ,Triangle ,Harare City and they will finish it off with inform Shabanie Mine.
Current log leaders Dynamos will also have to win their last games to return the premiership as they face Triangle, Shabanie Mine, Chicken Inn and Black Mambas, whilst second placed on the log Harare city will face Black Rhinos, Motor Action, Highlanders and Caps United.
