Harare, Zimbabwe – Documents have emerged indicating that the High Court of Zimbabwe declared Timothy Chiminya as the rightful King Munhumutapa. The details come from a case brought before the court by Chiminya against the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works.

According to the court order, dated September 28, 2022, and presided over by Honourable Justice Munangati-Manongwa, it was declared by consent that “The plaintiff Timothy Chiminya is hereby declared as Mambo Munhumutapa.” The document further orders the defendant to pay the plaintiff his outstanding wages and allowances.

This ruling seemingly grants Chiminya the title of the revered King Munhumutapa, a significant historical figure in Zimbabwean history. The Munhumutapa Kingdom was a powerful state that existed from the 15th to the 17th centuries.
