A French couple faces arrest for child abuse after a baby was found in the boot of their car at a garage in the French capital.
French investigators are digging deep to unravel the case of baby girl who was found on a car boot by mechanics at a garage.
It is alleged a mechanic found a 20 months old baby naked, malnourished and dehydrated in a car boot that has been brought for repair by a mid 40s woman.
The car owner denied having a child in the car after the mechanics asks her due to sounds that were coming from the boot and said it was a child toy.
A mechanic opened the boot surprisingly to see a naked baby lying in bin bags struggling to breathe.
“The smell was overwhelming and the child seemed dehydrated, very very very dirty and feverish,” said the mechanic.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital were tests taken showed the child had suffered delayed growth and developmental problems and that the birth of the baby was never registered.
It is alleged that the woman was hiding the baby from her partner and other three siblings for reasons not yet verified.
The couple was arrested for child abuse and endangering the minor and later bailed while the baby remains in hospital undergoing treatment.
