Residents of Zimbabwe have been told that they will experience more water cuts by the Harare City Council due to the upgrading which is currently underway at the Morton Jeffrey.
This is bad news for the capital city as residents are already suffering from water cuts, which have persisted for a long time.
Speaking in an interview the town clerk Dr Tendai Mahachi broke such bad news to the residents of Harare saying that the upgrading of pumps at the Morton Jeffrey Plant would last till September.
“The upgrading we are doing at Morton Jeffrey will cause more water cuts and these water cuts will prolong till September that is when we think we will have finished the upgrading and the situation will be brought to normal, as for now we are working below our capacity”, said Mahachi.
The Council is likely to come under heavy criticism because of this development as they are still being criticised of paying themselves bumper salaries at the expense of rate-payers with no service delivery .
