Happy Birthday OAU
57 years today and still counting
You have come of age OAU
You’ve matured like wine
You’re the cream of the crop
Maturity brings wisdom and decisiveness Wake up and smell the coffee lt’s time to act like a responsible adult, lt’s time to act like an esteemed organisation

Don’t be a lame duck, don’t be toothless Pit Bull Terriier
Don’t be a lamp under a bushel, shine like a shooting star
Bite like a Rottweiler, Be decisive like a thunderbolt
Say no to die hard dictators who rise to power through coups

Say no to oppression of blacks by blacks
Say no to holier than thou regimes
Call a spade a spade, shun corruption and tyrannical rule
Never dine with dictators who rig elections
Show them the middle finger, don’t recognise their governments
Say no to dictators who survive on torture of civilians
Be an ambassador of good governance and rule of law

Bring to book regimes that massacre women and children
Say yes to a Cape to Cairo underground railway line.
Say yes to a Cape to Cairo motor way
Be a visionary, internet is here to stay
One Africa, one currency One Africa, one vision

One Africa, same destiny
Africa without borders is the way to go
OAU united you stand, divided you fall
Be your brethren’s keeper.
As you celebrate the 57th birthday
Adhere to the principles of the founding fathers,
One Africa, one vision,one family
Aluta continua!
