Tinoonga Mawere(News of the South)- Masvingo- The government has unrolled a drought relief programme to combat starvation.
Government sources have revealed the programme has been unrolled in anticipation of the dire effects of drought.
“Due to the effects of drought, we have already embarked on relief efforts to avert starvation.
Our teams are already on the ground distributing food.We expect relief agencies to complement our efforts,” government sources at Benjamin Burombo said yesterday. Acting Masvingo District Administrator, Roy Hove has also said although the government is facing challenges in the distribution of food, relief agencies have promised to support the relief efforts.
