Tinoonga Mawere(News of the South) – Masvingo- Former National People’ s Party Spokesperson Jeffryson Chitando has said the government of Zimbabwe should not allow the so called rogue police officers and soldiers to abuse state uniforms.

Chitando is also a former MDC MP for Masvingo Central Constituency and he is a respected political analyst in Masvingo.

See his statement below:” The Zimbabwe National Army and Zimbabwe Republic Police must understand that military and police uniforms are state property and for them to let the so called rogue members of the army and the police misuse them is unprofessional and negligence of highest level.

A nation cannot have members of the security carrying out unsanctioned activities in state uniforms.

The army must understand that if a rogue member is in military uniform then an underground banditry movement is easy to operate in the country. Is our state security trying to tell the nation that a rogue movement of former members of the army is operating in this country?

The army must make sure all it’s former officers are made to surrender the state uniforms with immediate effect. We can’t continue to be harassed by individuals in state uniforms while army and police officers are folding their arms.

During the 2018 elections when the opposition MDC Alliance argued that members of the security forces were deployed to rural areas, Zanu PF dismissed the argument.

The rogue soldiers are a creation of Zanu PF. The biggest problem is that the economic hardships are hitting hard on everyone and the rogue soldiers are now taking advantage of the situation to loot goods from shops.
