France international Olivier Giroud says his team are ready to die to overturn a 2-0 deficit succumbed against Ukraine in Kiev on Friday and qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil next summer.

Les Bleus are in a bad position in their two-legged play-off fixture against Ukraine after Friday’s defeat.

As if the defeat was not bad enough, defender Laurent Koscielnly was given his marching orders in that loss and he will obviously miss Tuesday’s second leg in Paris, but the Arsenal frontman still believes France can come up with a turn around.

“We are ready to die on the field to get there,” he told reporters.

“We want to show the French people and to ourselves that we are proud to represent France. We want to make proud all people who love us and support us.

“I am offended with the first leg defeat. I want to redeem myself, like all my team-mates, l guess.

“They will give us exactly the same treatment on Tuesday. We won’t be surprised. They are going to hit us hard.

“We want to do better, to make history. It is a matter of pride. We’ll do it, I firmly believe. Today I still can`t grasp the idea of France not going to Brazil.”

The striker scored 8 goals for Arsenal this term and he has not done much for the national team but believes he has to up his game on Tuesday against Ukraine in Paris.
